I do love Mondegreens. Here's your urban dictionary definition for all novices:
noun. A misheard lyric in a song. The term comes from an old song which contains the lyric "They slew the Earl of Moray and laid him on the green." It was commonly misheard as "They slew the Earl of Moray and Lady Mondegreen."
Jel, as a small boy, was a pro at mondegreening. Some of his best included:
'So long, farewell, my feet are saying goodbye...'
'Mister Sandman, bring me a drink.'
And
'Take me back to the black holes, the black holes 'round the corner...' (Black Hills of Dakota)
This clip below here is a piece of psycadelic nonsense that I stumbled upon in my YouTube wanderings. Incidentally, the song, 'Caramelldansen' was created by a now defunct Swedish pop group, remixed to be twice as fast and hyper, and is now a major teen culture meme in Japan. Talk about your small world...
Oh, and whilst we're on the topic of David Tennant (which we aren't really) I have just found a reason to be dying to see 'Blackpool':
