Keep A Diary And One Day It'll Keep You - Mae West

:D Just finished reading Jessie's blog about journals! I love journals! Been meaning to write a blog about my own for some time now - and shan't do it tonight coz it's too late! (I know, I always say 'I must blog about that later - and then never do. Meh.) But I have kept a diary since age seven, so there's plenty of material... and I also reread my diaries all of the time. To quote Oscar Wilde: "I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train." Very true.
I find rather amusing my past self's narrative attitude. Despite having scrawled all over the inside covers of most of my early journals 'KEIRA'S NOTEBOOK DO NOT OPEN OR READ' with various spelling/grammatical mistakes & variations, I find that I have always expected somebody else to read my diary, at least after I am dead. I even make rather morbid comments about it. I talk about what my family will be allowed to make public; sometimes what I'd like my grandchildren to read and I think I addressed specific people at least once! And (in my intense, juvenile vanity) I have always entirely expected my diaries to make excellent material for my future biographers. Which they shall. If I ever do achieve any sort of fame. Which seems unlikely.

Also worthy of note - today I discovered that I have received 173 emails from Erin in the space of two years! Wowee! (I sort my emails into folders; a mildly dorky thing to do...)
