“I am looking for someone to share in an adventure that I am arranging, and it’s very difficult to find anyone.”

You live and learn. At any rate, you live.
Cannot wait for this year to end! 2010 has to be better. It even looks and sounds better...
I will admit that there have been lovely wonderful things about this year, like my job and my friends, but I won't deny that an awful lot of painful, inconvenient and plain horrid things have flavoured my experience of '09. Like my first experience of going to court. Today. It was more than mildly unpleasant and I shan't describe it in detail, but the place was like a cross between a hospital and a police station. Extremely ugly in decor, like a hospital, with those awful olive green and ugly grey colours that were so popular in the early nineties. Also, my first experience with car accidents. And my second. And my third. My first experience of paying off a large debt, definitely. Well.
'Hope smiles on the threshold of the year to come - whispering that it will be better.' - Tennyson
The other weekend I had a sleepover directly after a house-sitting stint, which meant packing up all my stuff from the house and taking it on the train with me (I had two sibs with me too). All the luggage I carried was driving me nuts so when I saw a colony of stolen and abandoned shopping trollies something inside me went a little mad. I stuffed all my gear and my sister's gear into it and ran up the streetl. I called the trolly collecting company, like a responsible citizen, and took the train, feeling like a happy mad person. I got plenty of odd looks, but it was worth it :)
