Housesitting... walking the house's crazy doggy... watching North and South :) I love North and South. When I borrowed it from Fiona my dad was really really keen to watch it; I found that quite surprising, considering the storyline and his hate of 'girly' shows... turns out he thought it was about the American civil war! He swears he once saw a movie called North and South that was about the Confederates and Yankees... but I forced him to watch it anyway and he admitted to enjoying it in the end.
I really love Mr Thornton - he's like the Mr Darcy of the industrial age, as I'm sure plenty of others have pointed out... but he suffers more, I think, and so has more of my sympathy than Darcy... 'Ah doon't want to possess y': Ah wish t' marry y' because Ah lohve y'!' Be still, my beating heart! UK accents are awwwwwesome.
Speaking of which, I think the Cockney accent I'm borrowing for this year's play is a fail. I can do certain lines quite well but others sound ghastly - the role was definitely written for an American accent. But all the other characters are all posh English, Texan or French, so I wanted to do something different. Standing around the stage without lines is waaay more awkward than I thought it would be. It's really hard to stay in character when you're standing still saying nothing for twenty minutes! But I love the twenties theme and am dying to find a good dress. Erin's going full on with long cigarette holder and alcoholic theme - I need to design a costume already! Picked up a pretty cut glass decanter for three bucks at an op shop the other day, so that's a start for the mini-bar...

Oranges are very nice. Very nice indeed. I think I shall start carrying one in my bag so that whenever I am tempted to buy naughty sugary things I can sink my teeth into a ripe juicy orange. But they are embarrassingly messy things to eat in public.
I went out with Erin to Newtown last night - lovely time even in the rain :) I stupidly wore a wraparound skirt that day and nearly died of hypothermia on my way home - as well as nearly exposing myself half a dozen times... I hate windy days - for some reason I get an intense headache in my forehead and temples if I'm out in a cold wind for too long.
