Learn to win a lady's faith
Nobly, as the thing is high;
Bravely, as for life and death---
With a loyal gravity.

Random cats want to be my friends in Lewisham. They emerge, silently, from tiny, dainty well kept front yards that are mad with flowers, to rub their whiskers against my feet. A cat, very very like Shadow, except heavily pregnant, skittishly greeted me yesterday and this morning a grey and white pussy sprawled at my feet and sniffed my shoes. I like Lewisham. I wish the little record shop near the station was open sometimes. I like the pretty, well-kept terrace houses that I shall probably never ever be able to afford, with their poetry gardens and neat little name-plates. I like the parks and fruit shops and butchers of Dulwich Hill. I like the vibe and the second-hand bookshops of Newtown.
Two films I want to see: 'How To Steal A Million' - Audrey Hepburn; and 'Court Jester' - Danny Kaye...
Reality checks are awkward. Just remembered that I am a roly-poly teenager with tacky second-hand clothes and nerdy fetishes.
